Task management app for small teams
A Kanban-style web app with real-time updates, built for teams of 5 to 20 people.
Context
An interior design firm was tracking work in spreadsheets and chat messages, which led to missed deadlines and little visibility into who was doing what. They needed something simpler than Jira that a non-technical team would actually use.
Solution
- Drag-and-drop Kanban board built with React, optimised for both large screens and tablets.
- Node.js backend with PostgreSQL, with real-time sync over WebSocket so everyone sees changes instantly.
- Role-based permissions and email reminders for tasks approaching their due date.
Results
- A team of 12 was using it daily within two weeks of launch.
- Overdue tasks dropped by more than half in the first quarter.
